Kailh's traditional Blue reproduces the click-jacket mechanism at rock-bottom cost, and for years it was the clicky switch in affordable mechanical boards. The click is bright and prominent, with the design's characteristic looseness a shade more pronounced than Cherry's original.
It is worth hearing next to Kailh's own BOX White: the same company's click-bar design produces a dramatically crisper, more precise click, clicking on both press and release. The comparison is the clearest demonstration of why click bars took over.
As a budget clicky it still does the job; as an education in click mechanisms it is genuinely useful.
