Gateron Blue reproduces the classic click-jacket mechanism (a loose collar released at actuation to strike the housing) at a friendlier price than Cherry. The click is bright and enthusiastic, with the characteristic looseness and faint upstroke rattle the design always carries.
Gateron publishes the 60 gf operating force and nothing at the bottom. As on other click-jacket switches, that rated force is often the peak at the click rather than the force at electrical actuation, so it is no stand-in for a bottom-out figure either.
Against Cherry's Blue it trades a little click sharpness for a smoother overall stroke; against Kailh's BOX clickies it sounds noticeably less precise, since the click-bar design produces a crisper, doubled snap.
As a cheap entry into clicky switches it does its job well. Just be certain everyone within earshot has consented before installing ninety of them.
