keyboardsimulators.com exists because buying mechanical switches blind is a bad experience. Reviews describe sound in adjectives; YouTube videos depend on someone else's microphone, board and room. We wanted one place where you can hear a switch, test a keyboard, and design a build, before spending anything.

What we promise

• Every tool is free, with no signup, no email gate, and no usage limits. Always.
• Your data stays in your browser: settings and results live in localStorage, not on our servers.
• We never let monetization degrade a tool. No ads inside tool canvases, no paywalled features.

How the sounds are made

Each of our 126 switch sounds is synthesized from the switch's published specifications: type, whichever forces the brand actually publishes, travel, click mechanism (click jacket, click bar, Alps leaf, bowed disk or buckling spring), and its community-documented sound character. Every sound has separate press and release samples with round-robin variation. Every pack on the site today is one of these simulations, labeled as such wherever it plays. How we make money

At the moment, we do not. No ads, no affiliate links, no sponsorships, no subscriptions. We may add store links later so the site can pay for its own hosting, and if we do it will be disclosed clearly at every place it appears. See how this site is funded.

Accuracy

Switch specs come from manufacturer datasheets and established community measurements, and we label whether a brand rates actuation or bottom-out force, since the two are not interchangeable. Our 19 keyboard layouts are drawn on the standard 19.05mm grid. Spot an error? We want to know, because the site improves fastest when enthusiasts push back.
