Gateron Baby Kangaroo 2.0
TactileGateron's big-bump tactile: a large early P-shaped bump with a poppy, clacky voice. One of the strongest tactile values in the mid-price bracket.
Sound & feel
Baby Kangaroo 2.0 is Gateron's entry in the big-tactile arms race. The force curve front-loads a large, rounded bump right at the top of the stroke: press, snap over, then a clean fall to the bottom. At 59 g actuation it has genuine presence without tipping into fatigue territory, and Gateron shortens the stroke to 3.4 mm so there is little dead travel after the bump. Gateron publishes no bottom-out force for it.
Where many big tactiles aim for muted thock, the Kangaroo goes the other way: its bottom-out is poppy and clacky, giving typing a lively, energetic rhythm. Factory lube keeps the heavy tactile event from feeling scratchy.
It's a compelling middle path between light Browns and boutique heavyweights like Boba U4T: most of the bump, a fraction of the price.
