NovelKeys NK Silk
LinearNovelKeys' own linear line, made by Durock/JWK and factory lubed with Krytox 205g0. Smooth from the first press, sold across several colorways at 35g, 45g and 55g.
Sound & feel
NK Silk was NovelKeys' first branded switch, a Durock/JWK linear built to sit in stock as a ready-to-use option instead of arriving through a group buy. It ships factory lubed with Krytox 205g0, so it is smooth from the first keypress with no break-in ritual required.
The mainline Red, Yellow and Black use nylon housings with a POM stem, which gives a medium-thickness sound: low and even, without the sharp top end of a polycarbonate linear. Weights run 35g operating for the Red, 45g for the Yellow and 55g for the Black. Later colorways change the housing tint and the spring rather than the formula.
It is the pick when you want a good JWK linear that needs nothing done to it. NovelKeys sells the same idea unlubed as NK Dry, for people who would rather tune switches themselves.
Sound on this page is synthesized from the switch's published specs and community-documented character: an honest simulation, not a recording. We're progressively replacing simulations with our own studio recordings. How our sounds are made

Frequently asked questions
What does the NovelKeys NK Silk sound like?
soft, well-lubed nylon linear; low and even. Use the player on this page to hear simulated press and release sounds derived from its real specifications.
Is the NovelKeys NK Silk good for gaming or typing?
As a linear switch with 2mm pre-travel, it suits fast, repeated presses, which is why linears are a common gaming pick. It types perfectly well too if you like a smooth, uninterrupted keystroke.
How heavy is the NovelKeys NK Silk?
NovelKeys publishes no force figures for the NovelKeys NK Silk, so there is no honest number to quote here. The force curve on this page is the shape a linear stroke takes, not measured data.
