Sound & feel

Tangerines put UHMWPE (an extremely slick, soft polyethylene) on the map as a switch housing material. Against the slippery housing walls the stem glides with almost no perceptible friction, and the soft plastic damps the bottom-out into a deep, cushioned clack unlike the brighter nylon-and-PC norm of its era.

Sold in 62g and 67g bottom-out weights (the 67g "dark" version being the community favorite), Tangerines were a staple of high-end builds alongside Alpacas. The soft housing does make tolerances a little loose (films are a popular mod), but the signature sound remains distinctive years later.
