Canadian company Matias kept the Alps flame alive after the originals were discontinued, producing simplified-Alps switches to this day. The Quiet Click is their damped tactile, a direct descendant of the SKCM Cream Damped concept, with rubber softening both ends of travel.

The bump is recognizably Alps in character, arriving with a damped thud rather than a clack. It is one of very few ways to buy a brand-new keyboard with genuine Alps-style feel, though the rectangular stem still rules out MX keycap sets.

For typists who want vintage lineage without vintage sourcing headaches, or a quiet board with more personality than an MX silent, it remains a distinctive, slightly stubborn choice.
