Speed Silver is Kailh's entry in the short-travel arms race, pulling actuation up to about 1.1 mm so presses register almost as soon as fingers touch down. Total travel shrinks to 3.5 mm, tightening the whole stroke, and the spring is a light one at Kailh's rated 40 gf.
The acoustic result is a short, sharp clack with little wind-up. Keystrokes feel and sound clipped, which suits the rapid-fire inputs it was designed for. Typing accuracy takes the usual speed-switch penalty until you adapt to the sensitive top end.
It competes directly with Cherry's Speed Silver at a lower price, and became a common sight in mid-range gaming keyboards from brands chasing the esports market.
