Sound & feel

Holy Panda X is Drop's answer to years of feedback on the original retail Holy Pandas: same class of huge, rounded, top-of-travel bump, now manufactured by Gateron with factory lube and tighter tolerances. Drop sells the same switch in two mounts, 3-pin plate and 5-pin PCB, so check which SKU you are ordering rather than assuming the extra legs are there.

The sound stays firmly in thock territory, deep and full on bottom-out with the scratch and spring noise largely engineered out. Total travel is 3.5mm, half a millimeter shorter than the frankenswitch, which makes the switch feel a touch more direct under fast typing.

If you want the Holy Panda character without a lube station and tweezers, this is the version to buy. Purists chasing the exact vintage feel may still prefer building originals from Halo stems.
