MX White, nicknamed "milk" in Asia because MX Clear had already taken the name "White" there, is one of Cherry's oddest offerings: a clicky switch engineered to click quietly. It shares Green's heavy 80 g weighting (1985 production was rated 75 cN before rising to 80 cN in 1988), but the click lands duller and more muffled.
The result sits in a strange middle ground. You still get the mechanical snap and the timed tactile bump, but the sound signature is more of a thock-tick than a sharp ring. In a quiet room it's still audible; in a normal office it mostly disappears into typing noise.
Whites suit clicky fans making a small concession to housemates or coworkers. They're uncommon at retail, which has made them a minor collector's curiosity.
